WHAT IS THE CAN-AM SPYDER RIDER EDUCATION PROGRAM?

Certified instructors will share their expertise for you to receive the training fundamentals required to successfully complete the course and obtain your 3-wheel motorcycle endorsement.
The closest open course to Brooks Powersports is the 3-Wheel Basic Rider Course conducted by the Motorcycle Safety Academy in a parking lot at Harrisburg Area Community College. Brooks Powersports donated some Can-Am Rykers for you to ride at no extra cost for the duration of the course. A 3-Wheel Riding Clinic also is available from Total Control Training in Lancaster / Manheim.

Do you need a motorcycle license for a Can-Am Spyder in Pennsylvania?

What type of license is required?
A 3-wheel motorcycle license is required to ride a Can-Am Spyder. A skill test on a 3-wheel motorcycle is required. A 2-wheel motorcycle license also allows you to ride a Can-Am Spyder. However, according to the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program, "Motorcycle permit holders who complete a 3-wheel basic course will earn a motorcycle license with restriction prohibiting the operation a of 2-wheel motorcycle."
Is the motorcycle rider education mandatory?
No. However, Can-Am Spyder strongly recommends that every new rider completes its 3-wheel riding course in order to:
- Familiarize with the Spyder products.
- Learn the basics in a friendly/safe environment.
Can I pass my skills test on a Can-Am Spyder?
Yes. The skills test can be completed at a local driving school.
